VoiceDo Privacy Policy
- VoiceDo has no account, no servers, no ads and no analytics.
- Your tasks and settings are stored only on your device. The developer never receives them.
- The microphone is used only while you are adding a task by voice, to turn your speech into text.
Information VoiceDo stores
VoiceDo saves the tasks you create (title, due date and time, whether it is done, when it was created, and whether a reminder is on) and your app settings in a database on your device. This information is not uploaded to any server run by the developer, and it is not sold or shared.
Microphone and speech recognition
When you tap the microphone, VoiceDo listens only while the voice screen is open and uses your device's built-in speech recognition to turn what you say into text. VoiceDo asks for on-device recognition whenever your device supports it, so audio stays on your phone.
If your device can't recognize speech on-device, it may use its standard speech recognition service instead (for example, Google on Android). In that case, the audio is handled by that service under its own privacy policy. VoiceDo itself does not record, store or send audio. Only the resulting text is saved, and only when you save the task.
Reminders
Task reminders are scheduled by your device's own notification system. Scheduling a reminder does not send any information off your device.
Permissions VoiceDo uses
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Microphone and speech recognition | To add tasks by speaking. Requested the first time you use voice input. |
| Notifications | To remind you when a task is due. Requested when you first save a task with a reminder. |
| Alarms & reminders (Android) | So reminders can arrive at the exact time. Without it, reminders may arrive a few minutes late. |
You can turn any of these off in your device settings at any time. You can still add tasks by typing.
Data sharing
VoiceDo does not share, sell or transfer your information to anyone. It contains no advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
Device backups
If you have device backup turned on, your phone's operating system (for example, Android Backup to your Google account) may include VoiceDo's data in that backup. Those backups are managed by your device provider under their own privacy policy, not by VoiceDo.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your tasks stay on your device until you delete them. Deleting a task in the app removes it. Uninstalling VoiceDo deletes all of its data from your device.
Children
VoiceDo is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
